Signing your lease
The office for new cooperators is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. It is during this time that new tenants must come and sign their lease.

Lease signing
On the day of signing, you need to bring 4 documents and 4 amounts:
Documents:
1. proof of identity
2. proof of training as main occupation*.
3. proof of income (payslip, scholarship certificate, letter of support from parents with monthly amount, tax certificate, etc.)
4. proof of liability insurance**. Liability insurance can be taken out at the time of signing, for the price of CHF 69 for a full year or depending on the start date of the lease contract.
Amounts:
1. CHF 300 for the company share***.
2. CHF 75 annual membership fee
3. security deposit equivalent to 2 months’ rent (excluding utilities)**.
4. first month’s rent
Without all these documents, no lease contract will be drawn up!
The amount is payable when the contract is signed. It is possible to make a prepayment on our Postfinance account:

But please bring proof of payment with you when you sign.
Please note
La Ciguë does not wish to negotiate the start of leases: the date of allocation by the housemates applies, rounded off to the beginning or middle of the month, in line with the departure of the former tenant.
To save time at the signing of the lease, you can come having already read and signed the “Usage and communal life” rules and the ecological agreement (available here).
*at least 12h/week (as defined in the “Usage and communal living” regulations).
**liability insurance is compulsory and covers damage caused to others. It does not cover theft, which requires household insurance! See this document
***The rental guarantee and the social share will be returned to you on your departure, provided you are up to date with your rental payments. The rental guarantee can be taken out with a bank or a surety company such as First caution or Swisscaution.
